I now have 6 kids. 4 girls and 2 boys.
If you’ve been keeping up with my Facebook page, you’ll remember the recent events we’ve been enduring. 6 kids is a handful….obviously, those who have kids understand that “handful” is an understatement. But we’ll just go with it for now. They’re all with different personalities and traits. I’m always looking for products that intertwine with their wants and needs, so when I received the opportunity to try the Rock the Locks haircare line, and the Piggy Paint nail polish, I couldn’t pass it up.
Here’s just a little bit more information about these brands:
Rock the Locks are “hair care products for kids without the harsh chemicals!”
- no alcohol
- professional quality
- no sulfates
- essential oils
- fruit extract
- and more!
While I definitely love the idea of a natural hair care line for my kids, along with the many other benefits, my kids didn’t really enjoy the smells. The Rock the Locks products weren’t used as quickly as I had hoped they would have. So if they don’t like it, I can’t really waste my money on it. This was a bummer for me, but it is what it is. Also, the names for each of the products for the most part was pretty witty. However, in my own personal opinion, the “not so knotty” one could possibly be considered inappropriate, along with “so fresh and so clean”, associated with the song, which isn’t really child appropriate. Call me a stuck up mom, but this is only one parents opinion so take it or leave it.
All in all, just because my kids weren’t too fond of this hair care line, your kids might! If you like the benefits I listed above, give them a try! The products are under $10, which is a decent price!
Piggy Paint shares this on their website, “Piggy Paint is specially formulated from God’s natural ingredients and dries to a hard, durable finish. There are no toxic chemicals; it’s free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone…..Say good-bye to harsh, smelly chemicals and hello to Piggy Paint…it’s as Natural as Mud!”
- non-toxic formula
- safe during pregnancy
- and more!
My three younger girls (ages 5, 4, 2) love getting their nails painted. It puts my mind at ease that this particular nail polish is safe for them to use. When they’re putting their hands in their mouths, I don’t have to worry about any ingestion of harsh chemicals. The directions state that a blow dryer will allow them to be more chip-resistant, but I haven’t done that with my girls. The Piggy Paint has chipped within a day or two, but in all honesty my kids are very active and use their hands quite a bit. I didn’t expect the nail polish to stay around for a long period of time.
Overall, this Piggy Paint is adorable, and my girls love them! They come in a variety of colors, and the fact that they’re kid-friendly makes me sold on them instantly. You can find them for only $8 each on their website or $19.99 for a 4-set gift pack! Don’t miss out!
